Detailed Description Windsurf School

Hullon Windsurfing School and Camp was founded in 2003 and since then more than 4,000 students have been through the school. Hullon's philosophy is clear and simple: learning to windsurf should be fun! So, at Hullon you will fully enjoy windsurfing classes, whatever your age or level: there is always a windsurfing course that suits your needs.

The conditions on the beach of Pozo Izquierdo are ideal for windsurfing, both in Summer and Winter. During the Winter months there is a light wind and an average temperature of 22 degrees, so a 3mm neoprene is the most suitable. In Summer, however, there are strong winds and average temperatures of 27 degrees, meaning warmer water temperatures, so a shorty wetsuit is enough to get in the water. These factors together make Pozo Izquierdo ideal for your windsurfing holidays all year round!

Surrounding Area

Pozo Izquierdo is one of the best spots to practice windsurfing all over the world. Pozo Izquierdo's beach is considered the windsurfing mecca thanks to its 310 windy days per year and average temperature 22 Celsius degrees. It has become the headquarters of the World Windsurfing Championship.

Next to Pozo Izquierdo there is a city called Vecindario, which offers you all you need: restaurants, bars, shops, cinemas and nightclubs. In addition, the island's capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the tourist areas such as Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas are nearby. You can rent a car or go by bus and visit other different places from the island: in Gran Canaria there is much to discover.

Arrival Information

Hullon Windsurfing School is just 15km from Gran Canaria Airport. Once you reach the airport, you can take the bus (lines 5, 66 or 90) to Vecindario, the closest city to Pozo Izquierdo (ticket €1.75). From Vecindario you have two choices to get to Hullon Windsurfing School: to take a taxi to Pozo Izquierdo (€4-5) or a second bus (1 €). If you find it easier, you can take a taxi direcly from the airport, and in less than 15 minutes be in Pozo Izquierdo. The taxi costs between €20-25
